I HAVE LUGGAGE!!!!!

I finally have my luggage!!! It took forever, but its finally here and unpacked. After heaven only knows how many hours on hold, I found out that the bag was actually on Italian soil. The airline was going to send it to me via courier, since Vanessa and I threatened to go to Pisa and sit in their office until it was in my hands. Problem was, the courier for some reason best known to himself, delivered said luggage to a totally different school in a different part of town, and no part of that address was anywhere close to mine! The kicker was that somebody at that school signed for it! Long story short - Vanessa and I had to take a super fast cab ride (we hijacked a cab - and cried and begged the cabbie to take us) to the other school at 5:15 on a Friday afternoon, when everybody wanted to go home. I had to give him a 10 Euro tip for getting us there on time, then taking us back to the apartment, which put him into overtime. Oh, and for hauling my suitcase. But at least I have my very own clothes, and my textbooks.

We went to our first art history class today. Late. We had cab trouble, and were late, so the teacher gave us a talking to in front of the class. I should have commented on the fact that he went to sleep yesterday in orientation, and snored so loudly they stopped the orientation to see what it was. (I had been snoozing to, and Vanessa blamed it on me, till I showed her I was awake and it was still going on!) Anyway, its going to be a very heavy walking class. I like the professor and class material, but I'm not sure I'll learn anything new, since he was talking about stuff I learned long ago, and most of the class has never taken art history.

We finally got our washer and shower fixed today. We were only able to get full on hot and freezing cold in our shower, and it switched from one to the other. No warm at all. I'm looking forward to my next shower.

All of us (me, Vanessa and Liana) ate at the same restaurant as last night. We got all cold stuff, since the kitchen didn't open till 7, and we got there at 6. We had bruschetta, cheese with honey, antipasti, tomatoes with mozzerella, Tuscan ham, Italian bread, and crostini. When we got there, another couple that was also there last night came in. It was fun!

Before I knew that my luggage was going to come in, I broke down and bought some flip flops at Foot Locker. They had some cool Italian rap on the speakers, and this little guy came and stood next to me and started dancing. So I danced with him for a few.

I got hooted at by policeman on a motorcycle this morning. We were on our way to Santa Maria Novella to get a cab, and I walked out in front of them, and my skirt caught some wind... yikes!

Well, I can officially state that I'm an addict now. I have eaten gelato twice today, cremea and chocolate chip. WOW!!!!! That stuff makes Ben and Jerry's look like iced skim milk.

We were going to Pompeii this weekend, but one look at train fares made us reconsider. We also need to get some stuff for the apartment (fans, trash bags, toilet paper and food!), so we're going to do that and see some Florence sights. Might go to the soccer game on Sunday, or at least find somewhere to watch it.

Better go now! I'm going to sleep in my very own jammies tonight!
